Location: Mexico City, Mexico.
Architect: Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos.
A luxury residential project in Mexico City has been designed to integrate with the natural surroundings and respect the environment. The architecture is based on a linear element that folds over the topography in a zigzag shape, with each fold containing spaces for five departments, large terraces, amenities, and parking distributed over four levels. The entrance and sequence of the building are developed in a descending fashion due to the natural slope of the terrain. The lobby is located at the center of a plaza with access to the vertical circulation nucleus for distribution to the various departments on the four levels below. The interior program of each department varies, but all feature high ceilings, open-plan common areas, and large picture windows that offer spectacular panoramic views and provide natural ventilation and illumination for most spaces. The gardened spaces provide shade while capturing rainwater for storage, treatment, and reuse in irrigation. The storage cistern is located below level -4, taking advantage of a redundant space between the terrain and the structure of the building.
