Location: Den Helder, The Netherlands
Architect: Kokon Architecture & Urban Design
The renovation of two outdated apartment buildings in Den Helder, the Netherlands, will begin this month with the use of 3D-printed concrete balconies and wider galleries. This is a first for Kokon Architecture & Urban Design, Helder Vastgoed and Bruil. The project will be completed while the residences are still occupied. This is the largest project ever undertaken globally in the field of 3D concrete printing, as well as the first time the method will be used in this manner. The renovation will add 50 years to the buildings’ lifespan.
