Four high-rise towers with spacious apartments have been designed in Manila, Philippines, with a vertical concept for urban living. The towers are situated in front of a scenic backdrop of forests, lakes, lagoons, and the Mount Makiling mountain range. The buildings appear to grow out of the landscape, with irregular balustrades resembling rocky ledges that divide the verticals and provide protective shade. The 156 luxurious apartments are surrounded by lavish balconies that resemble gardens, blurring the boundary between inside and out. Vine-covered stainless steel nets and ample planting zones restrict the views between the individual apartments, creating a sensation of being embedded in nature. The public area on the Skydeck and at the ground floors have been designed based on the identical climatic parameters as the towers, with a focus on renewable energy such as rainwater storage and solar thermal water heating. The innovative arrangement has a positive impact on the climate, reducing heat gain by orienting the building towards the main wind tides, producing natural cross-ventilation, and using façade-greenery and water-elements. The architects have created a sustainable design that combines luxury living with a connection to nature.
