DJI, the world’s leading robotics company, has opened its new headquarters in Nanshan District, Shenzhen. The building is designed to be a creative community in the sky, with twin towers arranged to separate research and development spaces from office and public functions. The ground level features gardens designed as contemplative zones, while the office and research spaces above are arranged in floating volumes cantilevered from central cores by large megatrusses and circular profiled steel hangers. The innovative suspension structure reduces the need for columns, creating impressive and uninterrupted office and research spaces, as well as quadruple-height drone flight testing labs unique to DJI. Skygardens on top of the floating volumes provide private gardens for staff, and the towers are linked by a feature sky bridge that will showcase the latest drone technology. The ground floor features a public exhibition space, a theatre for new product launches, and staff facilities such as gymnasiums and robot fighting rings.
