Location: Beijing, China.
Architect: ATB Orient.
ATB Orient, in collaboration with architect Facundo Taborda Gauna and OUDG, designed the corporate headquarters of OL, China’s largest landscaping company. The headquarters is located in Beijing’s prestigious “Art District 798” and was designed to reflect the landscaping business while exuding a sleek corporate feel. The structure features rounded forms and elements that represent the sinuous shapes of plants, set within a crisp white environment that enhances the dream-like atmosphere. The central atrium features a ramped walkway inspired by the stem and leaves of a plant, which spirals up towards the glassed cupola above. The walkway is intended to provide a spot for workers to enjoy a moment of repose or a chat, breaking down the traditionally rigid hierarchy within the Chinese workplace. The headquarters also incorporates a planted wall, which is the largest and highest in Asia, with a surface area of 780 m2 through seven levels. The new corporate HQ was opened in August with great fanfare.
