The Cinéma les Variétés in Marseille has undergone a major renovation and restructuring, including the addition of two new cinemas and a central atrium. The architectural concept focused on improving the public’s journey to the halls, with a refurbished façade and expanded foyer. The cinema now offers a more comfortable viewing experience with flexible seating and improved screen visibility. The equipment has been updated to the latest technology, while still prioritizing the film itself. The cinema plans to offer new dynamics, such as concert broadcasts, conferences, and master-classes, and become a transmitter of topical interest. The renovation aims to revitalize the historical temple of art and essay cinema and compete with commercial cinemas.
