Location: Auneau, France.
Architect: Architecture Patrick Mauger.
The Patrick Mauger agency has designed a contemporary hall in Auneau, inspired by the nearby covered market. The building is set back from the street, creating an esplanade that extends the main market square. The cultural centre combines cultural activities and community life, with a multimedia library on the first floor. The ground floor contains a reception area, a space for people to meet, a space for young people, and another for seniors. The first floor houses offices and small meeting rooms, while the upper floor has dance and gymnastics practice rooms. The building has been designed with environmental considerations in mind, with a high performance concrete skin, heating provided by a heat pump, and solar panels installed. The glazed façade opens the building onto the square, with the reading room offering views over the town. The cultural centre provides a friendly and diversified space for the community.
