Location: Paris, France.
Architect: Ateliers Jean Nouvel.
The project involves the construction of a concert hall with 2,400 seats, a training center, exhibition spaces, rehearsal rooms, a library, and administrative offices. The design, created by Jean Nouvel, features aluminum panels that create a graphic pattern and reflect the surrounding environment. The concert hall is designed for extreme flexibility and can accommodate up to 2,400 people. The project will cost €200 million, with 45% funded by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, 45% by the City of Paris, and 10% by the Ile-de-France region. The goal is to create harmony with the surrounding Villette park and the City of Music, while also maintaining continuity with the design of the park’s metal pavilions, known as “folies,” by Bernard Tschumi. The combination of acoustic, scenic, and architectural principles will allow for a fusion of the location and music, as well as the eye and ear.
