The 8,800m2 Sculpture Park and Wave Bridge, which is a part of the Luhu Arts & Exhibition Centre, is meant to serve as an iconic public entrance between Chengdu City and the new Luhu District. The Luhu Sculpture Park creates a public area that engages the surrounding community while also giving tourists an entry experience to the Arts Centre.

An entry car park and pedestrian access node were initially planned for the project’s entrance, which is a narrow, steep slope. Embracing this topography and producing a memorable arrival experience while boosting opportunities for access and spatial diversity is one of the primary design techniques. The finished product went beyond the parameters of the brief to produce a distinctive waterfront with a lakeside amphitheatre, waterfront promenades, and an iconic Wave Bridge connecting nearby developments with the new Art Centre and Sculpture Park.
