CONNECT WAN CHAI was Created as an exciting vision for the future of Hong Kong, one that is influenced by the New York High Line and a new generation of initiatives that are centred on people and the community in major cities across the world. With the declaration by Hong Kong that a government office complex north of Gloucester Road in Wan Chai will be put up for public auction, a special development opportunity has arisen. The most major urban difficulty facing Hong Kong today is fronted by this location, which is eight lanes of impassable roadway that divides Wan Chai into two clearly distinct neighbourhoods. Since the early 1970s, this motorway has completely cut off one of the most important waterfront neighbourhoods from the old and historic Wan Chai district.
