Hangzhou East Station Mix C is a commercial precinct complex designed to reinterpret the local heritage, and integrate nature into modernity. It consists of two clusters of 18m tall precincts, divided by a 40m wide sunken pedestrian plaza. The roof structure from abstracted Hangzhou mountains acts as a strong visual identity, and terraces in gap spaces and greens interwind with the overall experience. The main pedestrian sunken in the centre is the “west lake” embraced by the “mountains”, where events and happenings will be enabled.
