Dalaman International Airport is located near the Bay of Dalaman in southwestern Turkey and is connected to the Dalaman Domestic Airport Terminal designed by EAA and opened for use in 2006. The main body of the airport is covered with a protective canopy that regulates air between the two roofs and creates a microclimate by filtering the direct sunlight via its sunshades. A notable feature is the visual relationships on different levels and the existence of interior gardens. Lighting elements affixed to the ceiling indicate the free flow within the building and accentuate the lightness. The glazed facades’ interior along the halls and opaque laminated panels above accentuate the movement inside where the main materials exposed concrete and natural wood give the passenger a sense of groundedness.
