The Blue Planet – North Europe’s largest and most modern aquarium. The aquarium’s distinctive design attempts to tell the story of aquatic life. The architects pictured the building as a whirlpool that entices guests into the depths, where fascinating encounters with fish and other marine life from throughout the globe await. They were able to erect a distinctive structure for more than 600 million Danish kroner, where the architectural and technological requirements have severely tested imagination and skill. While the design team were predominantly Danish, Australia, as well as many other nations in Europe, North America, Asia, and South America, have made significant contributions that have greatly increased the concept’s originality. It was opened in 2013.
