Location: Ahmedabad, India.

Architect: Shaili Banker Architects.

The corporate office in Ahmedabad is located in an industrial area and is adjacent to one of its manufacturing sheds. The building’s architecture plays a crucial role in providing a better work environment due to the poor air quality in the area. The building’s plan is perforated, with big and small courtyards that serve as a source of daylight, creating a vibrant work environment. The courtyards are landscaped with indoor plants that improve indoor air quality, creating a conducive work environment by enriching the air with more oxygen. The building’s external form is inspired by the waves of fabric, imitating the roof of the building with a system of concrete shells. The interior design consists of a brightly colored palette paired with a variety of plants, resulting in a very vibrant work environment. The double-height reception area has a colorful backdrop with lights in it, while the cabin areas have a more subtle palette with a framed view of the manufacturing area behind. The corridors are lined with motivational quotes and lit with natural light from the courtyards. The building’s main aim is to create a conducive corporate environment that provides high-efficiency work output from its occupants. The courtyards in the plan of this two-story building have been landscaped to improve indoor air quality and are a source of an abundance of natural light, reducing reliance on artificial light. The entire interior design is articulated with a range of bright colors to create a fresh and happy place of work. The building’s unique form and design aim to provide a happy work environment in a drab industrial setting.
