The European Headquarters for Calvin Klein & Tommy Hilfiger in Amsterdam is the first building in a new campus development for PVH, the parent company of the two fashion brands. The campus is made up of three buildings, each with a different focus and function, but united by a maritime theme. The Calvin Klein & Tommy Hilfiger building has a sleek, ship-like design, while the middle building, a social hub, is inspired by a waterfall, and the high-rise office complex has a graphic façade reflecting the movement of waves. The Calvin Klein & Tommy Hilfiger building is the public face of the brands in Europe, with showrooms, offices, and a restaurant, as well as a roof terrace. The middle building, 125 Danzigerkade, is designed as a central meeting place for the campus, with an organic, stratified form and a sweeping atrium filled with greenery. The third building, 85 Danzigerkade, is a ten-story structure with futuristic design features, including asymmetric openings and glass boxes framing views of the IJ and the city. The three buildings create an intriguing rhythm when viewed from the water, with the angular forms of the Calvin Klein & Tommy Hilfiger building gradually morphing into rounded edges and flowing lines. The gradation of color, with the Calvin Klein & Tommy Hilfiger building in white, 85 Danzigerkade in black, and 125 Danzigerkade with grey detailing, helps to give cohesion to the site. Together, the three buildings provide a full range of services for the campus occupants and contribute to a high-quality environment with a rich variety of architectural experiences.
