The Huli Creative Industrial Park in Xiamen aims to become a national state-level cultural industry demonstration zone by integrating the goals of “Park + scenic area + community into one” with the development orientation of “creativity + tourism”. The core area of the creative industry park covers 1.35 square kilometers. The plan aims to transform Huli Boulevard into the Huli Creative highline to stimulate the vitality of the area, create a special cultural brand project, shape the beautiful and pleasant environmental quality of the whole area, and form a leisure urban area. The goal is to turn Huli Creative Industrial Park into the “cultural city”, “the spine of creativity” and “the heart of tourism”. The planning structure includes one axis and double corridors and double hearts. Huli Avenue is the main axis for creating vitality, providing the main innovative service functions of the industry development in the region. The east side of the planning area connects the public space, life service and commercial service function area, integrating urban public space, cultural entertainment experience and public service, and integrating ecological, landscape and culture in one of the high quality public activities. Two hearts rely on Huarong Road subway station and free trade gateway area to create the core of public service. To create a comfortable and pleasant space experience in the high density development block, the plan strengthens the connection between the urban space and the green space. It creates a fully covered walking-friendly urban zone, forms a three-dimensional public space network, including second-floor skywalk, ground-level shopping interface, and underground parking lots. HuLi AVENUES Park connects with overpass bridge and building corridor to improve the connectivity and cooperative development between high-intensity complex plots. The vision is to promote the reconstruction of regional values through strategic public space renewal, leading to a better city.
