Location: Nanjing, China.
Architect: Benoy.
In late 2018, Benoy won an international design competition to create the Alibaba Jiangsu Headquarters in Nanjing, China. The project is a mixed-use development with a total investment value of over eight billion yuan and will cover a construction area of 850,000m2. The development will become an interactive gathering destination for Alibaba and a showcase of the offline experience their innovative businesses can offer. Benoy’s design for the project rotates all components by 45-degrees to achieve consistency in overall planning across three plots of land, creating distinctive open space that can all have different uses. The project is set to become a world-class destination where people can work, live, shop and play. The Alibaba Jiangsu Headquarters is the second collaboration between Benoy and Alibaba Group, with the first being the Ali Center in Shanghai.
