The Culture & Tourism Town should incorporate the traditional culture and symbols of the region into its spatial structure. This means that the town should reflect the traditional way of life, but also adapt to modern society’s need for privacy and different leisure activities. Traditional Chinese cities and towns are a good example of how spatial structure can create a sense of community through lanes, yards, streets, and alleys. However, modern society has different manners in leisure and entertainment, shopping, food, and beverage, which cannot be fully expressed in the traditional way. Therefore, the town should also incorporate new lifestyles and functions. Some traditional functions, such as temples and ancestral halls, may no longer be relevant, and can be transformed into modern libraries, tea houses, or recreation clubs to continue their legacy.
