The interior space of the designer’s creation is simple yet interconnected, with the use of various materials such as stone, coated titanium plate, pottery board, wood plank, leather, wall cloth, and glass. The designer’s intention was to create complexity out of simplicity without any clutter. The space provides both real and imaginary boundaries for the owner’s family. The designer’s focus was to depict the owner’s family’s life in pictures and showcase their creative capability. The restaurant’s stone walls define the area, and the ceiling with a coated titanium plate creates a mirror-like effect to reflect the family’s life record. The living room is the largest area, with a set of sofas as the main focus. The designer left the space blank, creating a Zen-like atmosphere with a Zen-style desk, Buddha statue, potted flowers, and scriptures. The elements interact with light and the stone walls, revealing the realm of the Buddha’s hiding, journey, recuperation, and rest. The varied stone stripes on the walls are reminiscent of the scene described in the poem of the Cen Shen, a poet of Tang Dynasty, “Fenbai Hushang Yun, Daiqing Tianji Feng,” which is also the name of the artwork. Overall, the designer’s use of different materials and elements creates a space that is both simple and complex, providing real and imaginary boundaries for the owner’s family. The designer’s focus on depicting the owner’s family’s life in pictures and creating a Zen-like atmosphere showcases their creative capability.
