Jinggong Group Co Ltd, a Chinese company known for its steel structure engineering and construction projects, has ventured into real estate development with its first project, the “Asia Financial Centre” in Shanghai. The 31-floor mixed-use tower will house the company’s head office and subsidiary investment companies. To reflect the company’s core values and strengths, the developer worked with Spacemen to create a contemporary interior design that complements the building’s linear aesthetics. The central lobby core is inspired by Pandora’s Box, with a black box that is cracked open, revealing two slits of white light that lead to the inner lift lobby. The stone finishes of the black box were treated with four different techniques to create a raw and textured finish. The lift lobbies are designed with pure white corian and brushed metal to create a calming and inviting environment. The lift carriages feature grey mirrors that create a sensation of being suspended in time as one ascends to the upper floors. The design scheme uses a restrained palette of white, grey, and black to create a cohesive and sophisticated look.
