Location: Samutprakarn, Thailand.

Architect: ASWA (Architectural Studio of Work – Aholic).

The Bitwise Headquarters in Thailand was designed by ASWA, who aimed to balance the project’s objectives and limitations to create an innovative building that reflected the company’s image and identity. The building was designed to fit within a limited buildable area of 26×28 m2, which was separated into two sections. The first section was used for the main approach, drop-off, and entrance area, while the second section was used for the company’s office space. To create a form that corresponded to the required functionality and the company’s approach to image branding, the conventional column structure was eliminated. Instead, a steel truss was used to cantilever the space of almost 1,500 m2 capacity on the third and fourth floor, allowing it to overhang above the drop-off area. The truss structure also appeared within the interior space of the third floor and was selected for the facade cladding pattern of the building’s exterior shell. The double-layered exterior shell for the south and west facade was created using aluminum louvers, which welcomed in natural light and outside surroundings. The louvers were designed to resemble the ventilation fins of an air conditioner, reflecting the company’s expertise in the industry. Overall, the Bitwise Headquarters was an innovative experiment where architecture, engineering, and construction were all part of the conceptualization and development process. The building’s physicality and functionality were conceived to represent the owner’s true identity, resulting in a unique and striking design.
