Location: Moscow, Russia.
Architect: Tsimailo Lyashenko and Partners.
Architectural firm Tsimailo Lyashenko and Partners has created a concept for a new residential building in Moscow’s central district, named Brodsky after the famous Russian author. The 14-storey building is situated on the edge of the plot, close to the river, and has been designed to create a strong functional and visual connection with its surroundings. The building’s façade has been designed in collaboration with French studio Antonini Darmon, using three types of arches to create two different images of the building. The largest arches are the apartments’ living room windows, which look out over the river, while the bedrooms’ windows look over the quiet courtyard. The building contains 65 apartments, ranging from 100 to 600 square meters, as well as a wellness center, kids club with a playground, and underground parking for 132 vehicles. The courtyard alley passes throughout the building arch, creating a new pedestrian connection with the embankment and releasing a viewpoint that never existed before. The building is placed on the edge of the plot to avoid negative impacts on surrounding residential and school buildings, while also creating a courtyard with a pedestrian alley.
