The Cultural Center Elckerlyc is a multi-functional building that includes a theater, library, music school, 18 apartments, and a parking garage. It is designed to fit well in the village center of Hilvarenbeek, with the cultural program facing the public square and the residential program facing the adjacent residential area. The building has an elegant silhouette due to its modest height, courtyard, and cantilevering façade. The use of materials that match the adjacent monuments contributes to its urban integration. The linear conservatory follows the building line of the alley and connects the theater with the theater café and courtyard. Visitors can view the historic silhouette of Hilvarenbeek from the foyer, with the church as a highlight.
