The L’ECL de Chaville is a new building located in the heart of the new ZAC du Centre-Ville, replacing the old MJC. It has a surface area of 2,100 m² and is built on a gentle slope over five levels. The building is divided into different programmatic layers, with rehearsal studios, a SMAC, a café-theatre, administration offices, a Ludothèque, and activity rooms. The building is designed with an environmental approach, creating an urban and landscape identity for the new center of Chaville. The building is covered in a forest-like mesh made of stylized trees, giving it a unique and spectacular appearance. The building’s technical feature is the use of black architectural concrete combined with a wooden mesh. The façades facing the public space are made of black self-placing concrete and treated to achieve a deep black color.
