The Fengying Stone Art Museum is a small museum located in Chong Wu city, Fujian province, with an area of only 200 square meters. The museum is built on the original sculpture studio and adopts a strategy of enclosure to screen out dust and noise from the exhibition space. The exhibits of the museum are stone sculptures, many of which were originally placed outside and become vivid because of natural light. The museum has three inner courtyard patios, which are different in size, shape, and light expression. The exterior wall of the building is made of local stone 654#, which is also one of the most commonly used stone materials in sculpture. The vertical linear arrangement of stone forms an arc concave effect, expressing the existence of the wall particularly vividly. The architects tried to combine natural light and artificial light to create an oriental artistic atmosphere that is pure and natural. The three light courtyards matching before and after, and bamboo layers, create an ethereal oriental space atmosphere. The museum is a beautiful and mysterious square building of a single-layer horizontal expansion that is steadily standing on the ground. The exhibition hall is closed by an exterior wall with some 1-meter-wide gaps, through which people can peek inside and see the different courtyards in different shapes. The museum is a unique and beautiful space that showcases the beauty of stone sculptures and the artistry of oriental architecture.
