Fluctuart is the world’s first floating urban art center, located under the Invalides bridge in Paris. The 1000m² space is entirely transparent and fitted with three levels, designed to showcase all trends of urban art, from pioneers to contemporary artists, and emphasize emerging, innovative practices. The center is a lively, dynamic, evolving place, a place of creation, exhibiting, meeting and exchange, of inspiration and entertainment, harbouring a pool of cultural and artistic events. The center is comprised of different volumes in order to welcome temporary exhibitions, a permanent collection, in situ interventions, a specialized bookshop, cultural events, creative workshops, and a rooftop, place for dialogue, greeting and sharing. The prime purpose of Fluctuart is to put art within everyone’s reach. The project is a partnership with ICART, the 1st European school for cultural management and art market, and numerous educational projects will be interacting with the programming and will involve its students. Two spaces, bar & fooding, will enliven the ship around parties, performances and art works. The idea behind the project is to make the Seine the heart of the building, and to create a space that is versatile, accessible, and transparent. The work on the façades is based on references to fluvio-portuaries, with a modular, articulated, and transparent design. The center is designed to be a place of inspiration and entertainment, a place where people can come together to experience the beauty and power of urban art.
