The designers of the Buddha statue exhibit wanted to create a space that felt sacred and peaceful, similar to the art piece by Jiang Sheng. They wanted the focus to be on the Buddha statues themselves, rather than the space around them. The statues were placed in a corridor with windows and doors that allowed people to view them from inside. This design was inspired by the frame-view technique used in traditional Suzhou gardens. The tall and white Sakyamuni Buddha statues at the end of the corridor were partially obscured by a long, slender door, creating a sense of mystery and intrigue. Only when people approached the statues could they see them in their entirety. Overall, the exhibit was designed to create a sense of reverence and awe for the Buddha statues.
