The article describes a unique architectural design that integrates homes with the surrounding forest landscape. The three homes are elevated above the forest floor, with parking available underneath the overhang of the first floor. The parking area is surrounded by low shrubbery and an evergreen hedge, with steel wires running over the top for plants to grow and provide shade for the cars. The exterior walls on the ground floor are made of mirrored glass, giving the upper floors an appearance of floating between the trees and the ground. The upper floor consists of timber frames with panoramic cut-outs offering grand views. Biodiversity is a key feature on the roof terraces, including a common vegetable garden on the first floor. The trees protrude through the floors above them, creating a natural element in the homes and making living here an integral whole with the natural context of the green environment. The article also discusses the architectural quality, context, and texture of the design. The building is lifted and cantilevered to allow the outdoor area to be extended, with voids and recesses providing open views. The narrow and minimal amount of construction on the ground floor, and the overhangs of the timber structure, allow the application of timber to dissolve seamlessly into the backdrop of a small woodland. The landscape and public spaces are treated respectfully, with a green landscape in sync with the surrounding woodlands. The homes have a timber frame structure, with sustainable materials used throughout. Overall, the design aims to allow residents to “live among the trees” and create a natural appeal that blends seamlessly with the surrounding environment. The use of natural materials and sustainable practices ensures that the design is respectful of the environment and provides a unique and beautiful living experience.
