Location: St. Germain les Corbeil, France.
Architect: RMDM Architectes.
The building is a combination of a library and a multi-activities center, with a common lobby and a controlled garden. The design is based on a game of simple and readable volumes, each incorporating a functional cluster, differentiated by materials processing. The linear frontage device is important to minimize the visual impact from surrounding houses. The project is built around the reception spaces and a garden under control, like a cloister where the spaces and functions eventually meet. The building is subtly inserted in its environment and develops its own identity.
