The MGN Tower, a new 85-storey building in Cambodia’s capital city, is set to open soon and is expected to become an iconic landmark in the country. The building’s design is inspired by the Ochna flower and Bayon Khmer architecture, and its twisting glass design transforms from a flower shape to a star shape at the top. The tower is now the second tallest building in the country, standing at 450 metres. To create an attractive building, commercial and cultural facilities have been brought closer to the street, creating an activated urban environment similar to those found in New York, Singapore, or Saigon. The design leader, Hoang Nguyen, describes the building as having a powerful and heritage feel, while also being forward-thinking, fresh, and contemporary.
