Location: Perth, Australia.

Architect: Unispace.

Woodside’s new headquarters in Perth, “Mia Yellagonga,” is an international workplace destination of choice, featuring significant innovations in workplace technologies, health, well-being and connectivity. It is one of Australia’s first truly smart and well workplaces, delivering a holistic environment that aims to foster greater efficiencies, put Woodside ahead in innovation, and increase employee attraction, motivation and retention. Unispace’s design challenges traditional notions of how a workplace should look, feel and function through interventions that promote healthy behaviours, social connection, collaboration and focus. The campus also features integrated access to artificial intelligence, an intelligent and autonomous robotics lab designed to deliver and showcase Woodside’s partnership with NASA, and frictionless biometric access technology by Siemens/Morpho/Idemia. The overall success of the campus is credited to a truly collaborative effort between Woodside and Unispace.

Mia Yellagonga has a range of themed floors for employees to choose from, including sit-to-stand motorised desking, ergonomic and agile light set-ups, stand tables, collaborative spaces, and even an app-based program. Level 14 is dedicated to wellbeing and includes a universal multi-faith prayer room, parenting suites, mindfulness area, massage chair, fireplace, chill-out area, a viewing platform with a telescope, and a library. Staff can also access a 25-metre heated lap pool, state-of-the-art gym, outdoor space for personal training, treatment rooms offering personal grooming, physiotherapist treatment and a dedicated Nurse Practitioner for medical support. The external community is also included, with a family and community floor featuring a 300-seat cafe and 4,000 sqm outdoor space, a family zone where children can do homework as their parents work, parenting suites and a games zone.
