The Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre is a landmark that celebrates the mountain’s recent status as a UNESCO site and its symbolic value in Japan. It is articulated around an inversely shaped latticed cone that references the shape of the dormant volcano, providing future generations with a dedicated space to understand and observe the importance of the mountain. Inside, the building follows a 633-foot-long ramp that leads through five floors of exhibits. The Fujisan World Heritage Centre was built to symbolize Mount Fuji, with a five-story atrium and glazed façade enclosing the exhibition and display spaces. The design emphasizes the inverted wood-lattice cone structure while providing views outside the centre and within.
