Location: Al Ain City, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Architect: Ardh Architects.
The Nahil Farm House is a modern one-story structure situated in the middle of a farm with a palm tree plantation in Al Ain City, United Arab Emirates.
In order to give the design more authenticity, the arches were restored to the modern environment and were inspired by the historic architecture of the Al Ain emirate. This contextual integration, in turn, enhances the environment’s tranquilly.
The house’s main feature is a sizable reflective pool that serves as a cooling factor and adds humidity to the air in the middle of a hot, dry desert. It serves as a water reservoir used to water the palm plants. Modern mashrabeyas, arches, louvres, and optimum orientation are used in the architecture to maximise natural light and minimise heat gain.
