The Tianjin Shipyard, a significant milestone in Chinese shipbuilding history, has a hundred-year-old history and has made a significant contribution to the navigation industry as an industry leader of its time. To pay homage to the original shipyard and its history, the project was designed with the concept of a navigator, which represents a large ship sailing on the sea. The original architecture had a mock-up and sales office in two separate buildings. The designer connected the two buildings through a corridor and made them a complete structure through architectural and landscape design. The profile of the ship was outlined with flow lines, and an LED light strip was attached based on the profile to present a large ship of modern times with a futuristic sense of science and technology. The exterior waterscape adds to the artistic building’s appearance, making it look like a large ship sailing on the sea from afar. The designer aimed to create a pure artistic work with artistic flow lines and a large ship intent with both modern art and historical rudiment. The design rebuilt the sole of the shipyard with flexible and elegant lines.
