The modernization of Iran has been ongoing for over a decade, resulting in changes to the structure of cities and houses, as well as lifestyle. Historical buildings in Iran represent the culture and provide harmony between people’s lifestyle and social structure. The designs of these buildings have evolved from geometry principles to earth geometric principles, incorporating a combination of outdoor, semi-outdoor, and indoor spaces. However, imposed restrictions on building structures have led to a decrease in green space and a significant impact on the quality of life. The Niavaran residential complex project in Tehran aims to bring the quality of life found in traditional buildings with outdoor spaces to modern apartment living. The project is situated in an old garden and consists of 22 duplex units with wide balconies, gardens, and pools. Each unit has been designed as a duplex with a public grand floor and a private upper floor. The complex is formed by putting these duplexes over each other, providing both indoor and semi-outdoor and outdoor spaces. The shared floors act as green spaces, improving interactions between neighbors and providing convenience and vitality to residents. Overall, the project aims to bring the quality of life found in traditional buildings to modern apartment living, providing a friendly environment and improving interactions between neighbors.
