The client wanted to renovate his two studios, with the first one being turned into a museum and the second one into his house. The two spaces are connected by a bridge, and the living room in the second studio was painted red to contrast with the gray walls. The exterior of the house was painted a lighter gray and leaf patterns were printed onto it using a wooden mold. The skirt of the wall was dried using fluorite to make it shine like a star at night. The north side of the house is bounded by a large camphor tree, and the wall here is sloped inwards to respect the tree’s roots. The material of this part of the facade was changed to steel to highlight the tree’s texture, which will mature with the natural environment.
