Zhejiang Perfect, an innovative automobile technology enterprise, commissioned the design of its production factory in Jianshan new district of Haining, China. The company wanted to break away from the traditional industrial park space pattern and create a differentiated expression. The architects at gad · line+ studio responded by designing an introverted and stable architectural form that followed the basic element of “streamline”. The buildings were arranged around the perimeter circular driveway to achieve efficient logistics access, forming an inner courtyard that returned to life in the remaining space of the center site. The architects also tried to transform the mechanical production scene into a traditional settlement scene with more local narrative context, using the Chinese traditional painting of “mustard seed garden” as a logical clue. The landscape design used simple and abstract forms to convey the spirit of landscape, and the interior design created a new experience of modern office space integrating landscape artistic conception. The project was completed in 2019 and has been quietly built and put into use. The differentiated expression of the industrial park envisioned by the architect is finally presented through this way based on the translation of traditional painting pictures. The industrial park is no longer a factory with ice-cold machines, but a settlement where tightly integrated groups play their own functions in their internal activities.
