Sigar bespoke, a local brand in Foshan, has created a unique space inside the Lingnan New World Building in Chancheng District. The brand’s design concept emphasizes the importance of “bespoke,” and the designer has created a formfitting “suiting cloth” to complement the brand. The space is a long and narrow rectangle with stairs in the middle and staggered windows. Instead of making big changes to the space, the designer decided to comply with the architectural space and create a simple effect by combining art and functionality. The design concept comes from the knitting of textile, and the iron framework is fabricated by welding. The black canes are manually put through the framework to simulate cloth knitting, and the cranes coiling on the framework symbolize pieces of woven-cloth. The pattern is both functional and an art piece, and all three elements are combined naturally by pure design techniques. The furniture in the space is also specially designed to echo the black hue of the design. The design emphasizes the original impression that bespoke left in people’s minds, making customers feel the value resonance of both space and product in the same design dimension.
