The city of Bielefeld is creating a new residential area near the university campus to meet the demand for housing, particularly for students. The area is divided by a green corridor, with semi-detached houses proposed to the west and a student-focused housing concept to the east. The student housing will be arranged in freestanding buildings of different heights, with park-like spaces in-between that are available to all residents as public spaces to encourage communication and togetherness.
