The Parkside project in Hong Kong is a rectangular living space that initially felt confined. However, a redesign of the layout has created a more aesthetically pleasing and functional space. The sharp edges of partition walls have been replaced with a sigmoid shaped wall that extends from floor to ceiling, providing a panoramic view and allowing natural light to flood the space. The curve also serves as a clear boundary between public and private zones, while still allowing for flexibility in space usage. The use of various materials and textures, such as polished metallic wallpaper and rough concrete surfaces, creates a masculine atmosphere. A wide spectrum of grey colors is used to create a sense of warmth and coldness. The redesign has transformed an in-house cinema into a guest room, demonstrating the flexibility of the space.
