Benoy, a leading architectural firm, has designed the Wuhan Guanggu Joy City, a large-scale urban complex development project for COFCO, a leading developer. The project is located in Wuhan’s optical valley, a new high-tech area in Hubei. The design of the 450,000m2 project places an emphasis on light and energy, with pedestrianised walkways and bridges connecting the commercial space to the outdoor recreational space. The development features a commercial office tower, retail blocks and outdoor space, and is targeted towards a unique set of users. The area also boasts excellent transportation access, putting it on track to become Wuhan’s new hub. This is the third large-scale urban complex development project designed by Benoy for COFCO, following the development of Joy City in Hangzhou and Joy Breeze in Suzhou.
